Used for
Donepezil is used in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia in Parkinson’s disease.
It should be used in patients with moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease.
Side effects
Nausea, Vomiting, Loss of appetite, Fatigue, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Diarrhoea, Muscle cramp.
How to use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole.
How it works
Memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease is due to disturbance of message signals in the brain. Donepezil works by increasing the levels of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger involved in the transmission of nerve signals.
